Pressure from the President is necessary

President Biden could put strong unemployment provisions in the next bill.

What's Happening at the moment?

The American Rescue Plan has passed and was signed into law.

While a great help for many, it still leaves massive holes for the unemployed.

Work has already begun on the next major bill (the infrastructure bill). As we saw with the American Rescue Plan, Biden's initial proposal was used as the top line for Congress. That means we need the strongest unemployment provisions possible put into the bill from the beginning. We must tell them now.

Read our statement on the American Rescue Plan and what it leaves out here.

We need:

  •  Retroactive relief for all affected workers in the form of a large direct payment or tax credit. (Proposal here.)

  • PUA, PEUC, and FPUC programs extended until the crisis is over with automatic stabilizers.

  • 3. Tax on UI/PUA cancelled and refunded for 2020 and 2021.

The White House suggests the fastest way to contact the President is by using the form below.
